One of the pieces that came together recently is Magnolias in the Spring Sky, a detailed botanical illustration with cream petals, muted greens, and warm brown branches. I loved working through the layers of linework and color, letting the blooms feel as if they were drifting upward into soft spring light. I’ve been sketching several new botanicals — some loose, some more structured — and experimenting with a lighter, airier palette. A few ideas are still in that early, exploratory stage where I’m not sure what they’ll become yet, but that’s part of the fun. I’m letting them evolve slowly.
