There’s a quiet kind of joy.....

.....that happens when your hands are busy. Over the past year, I’ve found myself returning again and again to simple line drawings — magnolias, native florals, small bouquets — the kinds of forms that feel both familiar and full of possibility. I began sketching them as a way to slow down. No pressure, no perfection, just pencil on paper and a moment of stillness. But as I shared these drawings with friends and family, I realized something beautiful: people weren’t just looking at them… they wanted to interact with them. They wanted to color them, paint them, personalize them, make them their own. And that’s how this little collection of DIY line‑art prints was born.

Art You Can Finish Yourself

Each drawing starts as a hand‑drawn illustration on bright white, smooth, hot-pressed watercolor paper — the same kind I use in my own studio. The lines are crisp, clean, and intentionally open, leaving space for your creativity to grow. The paper holds up beautifully, and the artwork becomes a collaboration between us — my composition, your colors, our shared moment of artmaking.

A Gentle Invitation to Slow Down

I think we’re all craving a little more slowness these days. Something tactile. Something that doesn’t require a screen or a schedule. These drawings are meant to be that pause. A small ritual. A way to reconnect with your hands and your imagination. Whether you’re brand‑new to painting or you’ve been creating for years, the process is soothing, approachable, and deeply satisfying.

A Bonus for Anyone Who Wants to Learn More

Because I want these prints to feel empowering — not intimidating — each one includes access to a four‑week, self‑paced color theory and watercolor mini‑course. It’s gentle, beginner‑friendly, and designed to help you choose palettes you love.
You can follow the lessons or ignore them completely. The point is simply to give you tools, confidence, and a sense of play.

Why I Love Offering These

As an artist, I adore making finished pieces. But there’s something uniquely special about creating artwork that someone else gets to complete. It feels like handing over a seed and watching it bloom in a hundred different ways.
Every finished piece becomes a reflection of the person who created it — their mood, their palette, their story.

And honestly, that’s the magic.

If these drawings speak to you, you’re welcome to explore the small collection I’ve made available. Each one is ready for your colors, your mood, your moment of stillness.

You can find them in my Etsy shop

A glimpse into the magic….

…. of the pottery-making process.  Opening the kiln today after a bisque firing is revealing and exciting. I absolutely love making pottery. It's such a fulfilling process. There’s something so rewarding about shaping and molding clay; it's amazing to see how the pieces transform from soft clay to a solid, finished functional pot. Once the clay has completely dried to the fragile bone-dry stage, it’s time for the bisque firing. This is where the earthenware pots are fired to about 1800 degrees Fahrenheit to harden it. Once the pots have been through the firing process, it's time to empty the kiln. Every time I open the kiln after a firing, it’s like opening a treasure chest filled with my hard work and creativity. It's so exciting to see how the pots have turned out. There's a wonderful sense of accomplishment and satisfaction that comes with the process. It truly is a journey of creativity and discovery.

I have introduced drawing….

…. into a well-established morning routine. Not only do I enjoy and savor my morning cup of coffee, I also energize my creative side. I don’t just draw to work out ideas for larger projects; when I learn new things drawing is my form of notetaking. Since I am a visual person, learning this way is only natural.

For about a year now, drawing has been my medium of choice. I have been sketching in different books, working on a way to progress forward. I was searching for an approach to artmaking that is challenging, unpredictable, organic, and ever evolving. Working these ideas out in the pages of my sketchbook seemed like the logical choice. The other day, I took the plunge: I felt confident enough in my approach to begin a project on a larger scale. I am fortunate to have access to an endless supply of beautiful Magnolias. Watch below to see my progress.
