I have introduced drawing….

…. into a well-established morning routine. Not only do I enjoy and savor my morning cup of coffee, I also energize my creative side. I don’t just draw to work out ideas for larger projects; when I learn new things drawing is my form of notetaking. Since I am a visual person, learning this way is only natural. 

For about a year now, drawing has been my medium of choice. I have been sketching in different books, working on a way to progress forward. I was searching for an approach to artmaking that is challenging, unpredictable, organic, and ever evolving. Working these ideas out in the pages of my sketchbook seemed like the logical choice. The other day, I took the plunge: I felt confident enough in my approach to begin a project on a larger scale. I am fortunate to have access to an endless supply of beautiful Magnolias.
